When staying in the Chianti how wonderful to be able to spend a half day or whole day learning the Italian way of cooking. We have found a fabulous Chef, Barbara Jakusconek (aka Babs) who is a trained Cordon Bleu Chef, who has also taught in Florence, but now has settled in the Chianti region with her husband and set up her own cookery school in Panzano in Chianti. Babs is also a trained Sommelier and is a total believer that wine is part of the diet. She loves meeting new people and enjoys sharing her passion for food and wine.
Happy to come to your own private holiday residence or to hold classes at home in her own professional kitchen for groups small or large, courses range from a typical pasta chef course, a bread course, pastry cooking, gelato course, finger food and wine pairing and wine courses. If you have any particular kind of cooking you would like to learn Babs will be happy to design a day or half day especially to your requirements. Courses usually involve cooking in the morning or afternoon followed by eating what has been prepared over a leisurely lunch or dinner along with specially selected wines to accompany the meals.
