A selection of coastal holiday villas in the Balearics
There are plenty of reasons why the Balearic Islands are a wonderful destination for travellers from all over the world. Just off Spain’s east coats the four chief Balearic Islands – Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca – maintain a very distinct character from the rest of Spain and from each other, and offer everything from lively beaches on tranquil turquoise waters and world-class clubs, to prehistoric ruins and picturesque countryside, all with a near-perfect climate!
Ibiza is exquisitely unique, loaded with historic interest, hidden caves and walking trails up on the north coast, an intriguing bohemian character and a club scene that is second to none.
Majorca – the largest of the islands – is not just sun, drinks and high-rise resorts. Just dig a little deeper and you will find lovely old towns, beautiful secluded coves, hiking trails on panoramic mountains and the Balearic’s one real city, Palma.
If you want to stay off the radar, then Formentera’s 20-kilometre of coastline offers secluded stretches of white sand that can be easily compared to the Caribbean and a rustic and cosy charm throughout.
Last but not least is Menorca, more subdue in its clientele and moving at a slower pace, it’s the perfect spot for families looking for quite beaches and some interesting prehistoric relics to explore when taking a break from the sun!
