Villa Le Sorbe – Marina di Caronia
Surrounded by extensive private grounds and set on a pretty hillside, Le Sorbe consists of two villas sharing a terrace and pool area, ideal for two groups holidaying together. The large pool area has loungers and a swing bench and looks out to the sea, perfect for relaxing with a book or catching the sun. The pool is inviting and a welcome relief to cool off, play games with the family or to float on a lilo in peace. There is also plenty of shade to escape the sun during the day and enjoy lunch together. As darkness approaches, the outside area is well lit for an evening of fun, a sumptuous meal outdoors or a midnight dip in the pool. For guests who would like some time away from the kitchen, it is possible to request a shopping and cooking service at the villa.
Inside, the property is fresh and airy with a distinct Sicilian feel. The larger house has three bedrooms, an open plan living and dining area and a well-equipped kitchen which opens out to a pretty, shaded, outside dining area with barbecue. The smaller house also has three bedrooms, one of which has bunk beds and a living room with gorgeous views of the sea. All guests at Le Sorbe will feel perfectly at home here as it is equipped with everything a large group or family could need including air conditioning, wifi, satellite TV and DVD player, dishwasher and washing machine.
When guests feel like a change of scenery, they can venture away from the property to discover the delights of the surrounding area. About 500m away below the house is a private path which leads from a garden gate, under a couple of bridges to Le Sorbe’s pretty, private pebble-stone beach. Take a swim in the sea and enjoy a picnic or take a walk along the beach and enjoy the scenery. Another pathway from the house leads up through the olive groves to a lake and wonderful views of the coastline and mountains behind. A five-minute drive from the property there is many local shops and restaurants. For a day sightseeing visit nearby Cefalù with its stunning beach and famous Norman cathedral or Tindari with its Greek theatre and Roman remains. Visitors wanting to abandon their deckchairs for something a little more active will enjoy a visit to Madonie Regional Park which offers a pleasant change from the bustling coastal area with its spectacular scenery and tranquil surroundings. There are lots of activities on offer here including hiking, cycling, visits to historic hilltop towns and meals in some of Sicily’s best restaurants.
